As a Business Development Manager, you are responsible for the generation of new business and overseeing the entire process of contracts and bids.
About you
You will join a growing business development team with the opportunity to make and define our growth within key areas of our client base. You will report directly to our Business Development Director and work with various team leads to consult with ongoing proposals of work. We are already working with some fantastic clients, and this means that you will have the opportunity to have a significant impact on the development of our client portfolio.
You’ll also need to be:
- an excellent communicator, passionate about building trusted relationships with both existing and prospective clients
- able to recognise opportunities and achieve excellent commercial outcomes for Storm and benefits for our clients
- able to demonstrate experience and an excellent track record of business development within the IT and digital sector

What you'll do
You’ll be supported in the growth and development of your skills and help the wider team in their development. You’ll be given responsibilities from day one. Below are some core responsibilities include:
- building new prospects and sales pipelines in line with company targets including new clients sales for digital and IT projects
- proactive in making contact with decision makers to establish strong relationships
- provide reports on weekly/ monthly status surrounding leads and opportunities
- arranging and running initial sales meetings and product demonstrations
- providing a consultative approach to understanding client requirements
- qualify and identify commercially viable opportunities
- coordination responses to inbound sales enquiries from initial discussions, tender proposal writing and pitch presentations
- collaboration with Storm colleagues to close the process if required
- ensure effective transition to other relevant Storm teams once the sales process is completed
- attending key events and conferences for networking and business development purposes
- an understanding of public sector procurement process

From day one
At least 33 days' holiday
You'll get 29 days' annual leave and 4 public holidays. Once you've worked here for 5 years, you'll get an extra day for every year you work up to 10 years. So you could end up with 38 days' holiday.
