About the role

As an Associate Bid writer at Storm you will work alongside other business development & client services colleagues to co-ordinate, manage and respond to procurement opportunities with our prospective clients across the justice, health and local government sectors.

About you

You will ideally have a background in English literature or a similar writing-focused role and are looking to join a growing business development team.

You will have the chance to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of technical, business facing and user centred design colleagues to expand your knowledge of Storm’s service offering and how this is appropriately positioned when compiling bids for new projects.

Ideally you will have the following attributes:

  • good writing skills with the ability to be persuasive but concise
  • skills in reviewing and editing content written by others
  • highly organised and a great communicator
  • be willing to offer an opinion on where current processes can be optimised

What you'll do

You will have a range of responsibilities, as well as the chance to develop your existing skills and knowledge which will include:

  • assist Business development managers, Client Services managers and other Directors to identify, review and log new bid enquiries through various procurement avenues
  • support the development of the bid creation framework within SharePoint to accelerate the bid creation process by harvesting and categorising structured content from previous proposals.
  • engage with colleagues who are subject matter experts to create content that supports the compilation of bid responses
  • assist with the design of bid responses depending on the area of service delivery the project dictates to create a number of templated responses that can be edited at short notice
  • provide proof reading and editing support to other business development colleagues to ensure a consistent tone across all bid responses.

A desire to pick up any of the following activities would be a bonus:

  • implement a reporting system to allow the Commercial Manager, or others, to track the progress of bids through appropriate internal channels
  • creation of new case studies based on recent projects Storm has delivered.

At least 33 days' holiday

You'll get 29 days' annual leave and 4 public holidays. Once you've worked here for 5 years, you'll get an extra day for every year you work up to 10 years. So you could end up with 38 days' holiday.
