Get to know Mark

Can you describe in a few sentences what your job involves?

I work with clients to help them define their approach to digital transformation; to capture the requirements for specific digital projects; and to support the design and build of systems and services.

What career path did you take to get here?

I started out as an editor in the publishing industry before moving to work as a product owner on large-scale digital transformation projects.

I applied to Storm because I wanted to work in a Small and Mid-sized Enterprise (SME) where I really believed in its values.

What's been your most rewarding project?

Working with NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde on the design, development and delivery of an innovative digital service that supported clinicians in the identification of patients with suspected heart failure.

Waiting times were reduced from almost 12 months to less than 12 weeks.

What challenges you most in your role?

Every project is different. You can’t just fall back on what you did last time. You’re always learning new things. Although this is all really part of the attraction of the job!

How have you grown at Storm?

Every day I get to work with a great set of supportive people – you can’t help but learn.

I’ve deepened my skills and knowledge in the areas in which I specialise, as well as absorbing new ideas (to me anyway) about everything from user research through to cloud architecture. All this helps me be better at what I do.
