Get to know José

Can you describe in a few sentences what your job involves?

Once a project is delivered and completed by the project team, it goes into a support phase with my team. We ensure the smooth running of all platforms through proactive monitoring and action any client requests that might come through the help desk.

My job also involves trying to search for best GIFs in slack :D

What career path did you take to get here?

I always had a passion for computers/IT and fixing anything that could be fixable. That led me to pursue a career as a mechanic, where I quickly discovered my hands were not up to the job as they were always destroyed. After this I focused on my studies, moving from Sunny Malaga to Sunny Scotland!

After working in different jobs in retail management and banking, I thought 'what if I find a job that involves my two passions: IT and fixing things?' and that is how I landed at Storm.

What's the most rewarding aspect of your role?

The two most rewarding parts of my job are the technical part – investigating, finding the root cause and resolving those tricky issues which at initial sights seem to be impossible to debug; and the customer service side of it – going above and beyond delivering the best service to all of our clients.

How do you find the work-life balance at Storm?

I have a very young family – a 4 year old and a 10 months old – so work-life balance is very important to me. Storm and my line manager are always very supportive. I currently work the standard 9 to 5 however if there is a day where I need to change my times slightly all I need to do is send a quick Slack message.
