Get to know Jimmy

Can you describe in a few sentences what your job involves?

I work closely with our clients and internal teams to ensure that projects are all managed and delivered effectively. This can include writing proposals and statements of work, maintaining contracts and reporting for ongoing support and hosting services, and acting as the client representative internally at Storm.

What challenges you most in your role?

The main challenge is probably handling conflicting priorities and multiple ongoing requests, thankfully the wider team at Storm are always super helpful.

What makes you excited to come to work?

There are always opportunities to learn – no two briefs are the same!

What career path did you take to get here?

I had quite a mixed career path before working at Storm, for instance I’ve worked in broadcast distribution for a major arts organisation, natural language processing for a software company, IT support and knowledge management for large corporations, and I’ve also done language testing on computer games.

I started at Storm when I moved to Edinburgh and it was a good opportunity to make use of this wide range of experiences, and focus on a role in digital.

How do you find the work-life balance at Storm?

I find that work-life balance is encouraged at Storm and I’m always able to shut down work related devices and notifications at the end of the day.

How have you grown at Storm?

I’ve learned a huge amount since starting at Storm and have been able to take on new challenges and projects throughout my time here.

Do you have any hidden talents or interesting hobbies?

I have an uncanny sense of direction, which is always helpful when travelling!
