About you

You will have at least two years' experience in SharePoint development. You are looking to continue to be challenged with collaborative work that makes a real difference. You'll have deep and varied knowledge of the architecture and development of applications built using SharePoint 2013, SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online.

You'll also need to be:

It would be good if you had: 

  • experience identifying the requirements for and building SharePoint farms
  • experience managing and troubleshooting SharePoint Farm Issues
  • experience developing workflows / applications using Designer or other workflows
  • experiencing maximizing SharePoint capabilities using document sets, content types, and large list management
  • experience with React, Angular, Typescript and other JavaScript frameworks
  • demonstrable knowledge of the SharePoint application back-end administration including Central Administration, Search and User Profiles
  • familiarity with programming using web services utilizing the .NET framework 

Any experience with Office 365, Flow, PowerApps, Teams, Azure and cloud migration is a plus.

About the role

As a SharePoint developer at Storm, you'll be part of our technical team at our modern offices in historic Leith, getting involved in a variety of projects and working collaboratively within our diverse project teams. You'll be involved in the technical analysis of project requirements, defining solution architecture, and building well tested applications to high standards of quality.

What you'll do

You'll have a wide range of responsibilities. Here are some examples to give you a flavour of what you'll do: 

  • consult and collaborate with business leaders, end user, IT staff, vendors, and other third parties and is involved in every phase of application development lifecycle 
  • take part in requirements specification, solution design, prototype plans, developing and testing code, solution release, and supporting issue analysis and resolution 
  • collaborate with a team of IT professionals to set specifications for new applications
  • deliver maintainable SharePoint and Office 365 applications with a mature approach to the intent and structure of the code, taking into account a range of potential design patterns
  • build a range of integrations with other systems to serve a variety of project needs, taking responsibility for the quality of code you produce. including:  
    • code to provide and consume RESTful APIs 
    • queuing, pub/sub and other event-driven architectural components 
  • debug and diagnose complex issues with production applications 
  • research and share knowledge of tools, processes, and techniques with your wider team, both developers and non-developers
  • participate in our in-house (2nd line) support of applications you and others have built
  • use our continuous build and deployment pipeline to rapidly deliver code during project development and when participating in support
  • write automated tests to be executed within our continuous build and deployment pipeline
  • appraise new technologies and techniques and share findings with the rest of the technical team and the wider company
